A multi medium based piece dedicated to the artist’s sister. Naira is currently at a significant point in her art career, and just about to take the leap as a full time fine artist.  She made this for her greatest supporter and best friend.  Their relationship is depicted on this large scale canvas with splashes and splatters of color, and adorned with abstracted female figures portray the colorful life they live in Venice Beach, California. The added layer of roses is hand painted with ink on pages from the popular art magazine “Juxtapose.” The message of this piece is bold and clear. She is grateful to be alive and is committed to making her time on this planet count, by pursuing the path her art takes her down.  The measurement of success in art in this generation is often based on what art magazine one is featured in, or number of followers on social media. By using cut outs of her artwork painted on Juxtapose magazine pages she tells her audience they too can be in any magazine they want, they just have to take matters in their own hands. Life, connection, family, love, success, and the pursuit of happiness and dreams are all themes behind this large scale piece, a special first of many to come in this style.
